Why we don't publish a price list
Because the number would be wrong for almost everyone who read it. Two sites asking for the same 60 MT weighbridge can need different platform lengths, different foundations, a different number of load cells and completely different levels of automation. A single published figure would either flatter the simple installations or frighten off the ones that need a serious platform.
What we do instead
We quote against your actual site, and we tell you what is in the scope and what is not — particularly the civil work, which is where two quotations most often diverge. What a weighbridge quotation is made of
These are the lines that make up the total. Knowing them is what lets you read any quotation properly — ours or anybody else's — and see whether two quotes are for the same thing.
Platform and structure
Steel deck, main girders and side beams, sized to your longest vehicle and maximum gross weight. Usually the largest single line in the quotation, and it scales with platform length and capacity.
Load cells
Four to ten cells depending on platform size, plus the junction box. Type and sealing grade change the figure — analog against digital, and IP-68 / IP-69K protection for outdoor sites.
Indicator and display
The weighing indicator, and optionally a remote jumbo display, printer or battery backup. A modest line on its own, but the options add up.
Civil foundation
Normally executed at your end against our specification, so it may not appear on our quotation at all. It is still part of what the weighbridge costs you, and it is the line that differs most between pit type and pitless.
Transport and installation
Delivery to site, positioning, assembly and commissioning by our engineers. Varies with distance and site access.
Calibration and verification
Calibration against test weights, then Legal Metrology verification and stamping, which is required before the weighbridge can be used for trade.
Software and automation
Optional. Weighment software, ERP or SAP integration, RFID man-less automation, boom barriers, ANPR and CCTV. This is the widest-ranging line in the whole quotation.
Warranty and AMC
A minimum one-year warranty is usually provided. Annual maintenance is quoted separately and is worth pricing at the same time, not later.
What moves the price most
Roughly in order of impact. Each of these changes the figure meaningfully, and the first two change it more than everything else combined.

Capacity and platform length
The two biggest drivers, and they move together. A longer deck needs more steel, heavier girders and often more load cells. Specifying more capacity than your heaviest vehicle needs is the most common way buyers overspend.

Pit type or pitless
Similar equipment cost, different civil cost. A pit needs excavation, waterproofing and drainage; pitless needs a raised foundation and approach ramps. Which is cheaper depends on your soil, water table and how much yard length you can give up.

Load cell type and grade
Digital cells cost more than analog and are worth it where accuracy, diagnostics or lightning protection matter. Sealing grade matters outdoors — this is a poor place to save money.

Automation level
An operator-based weighbridge and a full man-less RFID terminal with barriers, ANPR and CCTV are very different propositions. Nothing else on this list has as wide a range.

Site conditions and access
Soft soil, a high water table or a remote site raise foundation and installation cost. Worth flagging early, because it changes the recommendation as well as the price.

Software and integration
A standalone indicator costs little. Weighment software with SAP or ERP integration, SMS and multi-weighbridge reporting is a project in its own right.

Specify it properly before you compare quotes
Platform length is decided by your longest vehicle, and capacity by the maximum gross weight crossing the deck. Graduation and load-cell count follow from both. Two quotations are only comparable if they are for the same row of this table.

Where pit type and pitless differ on cost
The weighing equipment is much the same — the same load cells and indicator, the same accuracy. The cost difference is civil work, and which one is cheaper depends on your soil, water table and how much yard length you can give up.

How to compare two weighbridge quotations
You will collect several quotes, and the cheapest is not automatically the worst or the best — it is usually just a different scope. These are the eight questions that explain almost every gap between them.
- Is the civil foundation included, or quoted separately at your end? This single line explains most of the gap between two quotations.
- How many load cells, of what type, and at what IP rating? A cheaper quote often means fewer or lower-grade cells.
- Is Legal Metrology verification and stamping support included?
- What is the platform's rated capacity, and what is your heaviest loaded vehicle? Buying more capacity than you need is wasted money.
- What warranty term is offered, and what does it actually cover — the structure, the cells, the electronics?
- Who services it, and how fast? A manufacturer's own engineers or a subcontracted agency.
- Is AMC priced now or left until after commissioning, when you have no leverage?
- Is the supplier the manufacturer, or a reseller adding margin to someone else's weighbridge?
The one that catches people out
Civil work. If one quotation includes the foundation and another leaves it at your end, they are not comparable and the difference can be substantial. Ask both suppliers to state it plainly before you compare the totals.
What it costs to own, not just to buy
A weighbridge is a fifteen-to-twenty year asset that sits in your dispatch path. The purchase is the visible number; these are the ones that follow it.
- Periodic Legal Metrology re-verification, which is a legal requirement, not optional
- Annual maintenance, whether under AMC or paid per visit
- Load cell replacement over the life of the weighbridge — the commonest wear item
- Downtime, which on a single-weighbridge site stops dispatch entirely

What information do you need to quote?
